Tv and movie
3d and-sci-fi

This must be the most popular use of 3d technology. Whole movies have been generated via 3d animation.. The best examples are surely "Shrek" and "Final Fantasy". Most of the times though 3d is used in combination with real actors. In the last Starwarsepisode actors played in a studio only, all enviroments beeing created by 3d.
Obvious that 3d is the ideal medium for sci- fi pics or movies.

Wanting to do cool spaceships is how i started off with , now i even sell them lol.
Would anyone have told me i would end as a spacehip designer and seller ten years ago, i would have called him stupid.

Below a view examples of animated vehicles, showing them in action is always a good sales argument.

Creepy critters...!!

That is probably the hardest aspect of 3d animation.
Who would forget jurassic park.
To achieve this realism though moviemakers work with 3d combinded with classical models.
The t rex in jurassic park was build almost original size and moved by hydraulics to support 3d in closeups.
Animations of this quality are very hard to do and need whole teams ro be realised.

It is however possible , to some extent, for single persons or small teams to realise some creature action. Example:

3d and realism.

Needless to say,the more realistic the result is, the more developmenttime and computerpower you need.
While small technical animationclips can be realised fairly fast, some of the pics and clips take ages to render.
By expierence i judge, doubling the realism quadrouples the production time.
A (small lol) animation to show how good it can get within reasonabe timelimits.
